Rose Mawa Gujiya

Step 1

Mix flour, salt, and ghee in a bowl. Rub it well with your fingers until crumbly. Add water gradually and knead into a firm dough. Cover and rest for 20 minutes.

Step 2

Heat a pan and lightly roast the mawa on low flame for 2–3 minutes. Let it cool.

Step 3

Add powdered sugar, chopped nuts, raisins, coconut, cardamom powder, rose essence, and dried rose petals. Mix well.Roll small dough balls into small circles. Place 1–2 tablespoons of filling in the center. Fold into a half-moon shape and seal the edges by pressing or twisting the sides.

Step 4

Heat ghee or oil on medium-low flame. Fry the gujiyas until golden and crisp.

Step 5

Let them cool slightly and enjoy the fragrant Rose Mawa Gujiyas with the delicate floral sweetness.
