Masala Nuts

Masala Nuts are a popular Indian-inspired snack that combines the goodness of mixed nuts with bold, aromatic flavours. Traditionally, peanuts, cashews, and almonds are either deep-fried or roasted, then coated with a spice blend that includes red chilli powder, black pepper, chaat masala, and hing. Curry leaves and green chillies add an unmistakable Indian street-style touch.

They are versatile — serve them with tea, pair them with cocktails, or pack them as a quick protein-rich snack for on-the-go. The recipe can be made indulgent (deep-fried) or healthy (dry-roasted or air-fried). Stored in airtight jars, Masala Nuts stay fresh for weeks, making them an excellent make-ahead snack.

Step 1

Roast or fry nuts

  • Healthy version: Dry-roast peanuts, cashews, and almonds separately until golden and crunchy.
