Frosted mawa modak with gajar core

#Carrot Frosted Mawa Modak is a soft green mawa modaks shaped like Christmas trees are filled with rich carrot halwa and finished with a snowy coconut dust and edible gold garnish. This dessert blends traditional Indian flavors with a winter-themed presentation.

Step 1

Prepare the Carrot Halwa Filling

Heat 1 teaspoon ghee in a heavy-bottom pan.

Step 3

Add grated carrots and grated beetroot. Sauté for 2–3 minutes.

Step 4

Pour in full cream milk and cook on medium flame, stirring occasionally.

Step 5

Cook until the milk reduces completely and the mixture becomes thick.

Step 6

Add Milkmaid and mix well.

Step 7

Continue cooking until the halwa becomes dry, glossy, and leaves the sides of the pan.

Add chopped dry fruits, mix well, and switch off the flame.

Step 9

Allow the halwa to cool completely before stuffing.

Step 10

Prepare the Mawa Modak Mixture

Heat 1 teaspoon ghee in a pan on low flame.

Step 12

Add mawa and cook gently until soft.

Step 13

Add desiccated coconut and mix well.

Step 14

Add Milkmaid and stir continuously to form a soft dough.

Step 15

Add a pinch of green food colour and mix evenly.

Step 16

Cook for 2–3 minutes, then remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.

Shape and Stuff the Modaks

Take a small portion of the green mawa mixture and flatten it on your palm.

Step 19

Place a spoonful of carrot halwa in the center.

Step 20

Carefully seal and shape into a modak or Christmas tree shape.

Repeat the process for the remaining mixture.

Frosted Finish & Garnishing

Step 23

Refrigerate the prepared modaks for 15–20 minutes to give a frosted, snowy look.

Arrange them on a serving plate.

Step 25

Lightly dust with desiccated coconut or powdered sugar to create a snow effect.

Step 26

Garnish with edible gold sprinkle and decorative stars.
