Farali Uttapam

#cnv26 Farali Uttapam presents an unique variation to the south indian staple uttapams. The batter is made from sama rice, Sabudana flour and spices. This fasting special dish, farali uttapams make fasting easier and tastier.

Step 1

First of all, clean the sama rice well and add it to the mixer jar, add sabudana to it and crush it to make a powder. Now take this powder in a bowl and add curd to it and mix it well.

Step 2

Now add water as required and mix well. Now again add this mixer to the mixer jar and crush it to make a thick batter. After that let this batter rest for 15 minutes.

Step 3

Now add rock salt and Eno fruit salt to this batter and mix well by stirring in one direction.

Step 4

Now heat a non-stick tawa, spread oil in it, add batter with a spoon, apply oil all over, add chopped tomatoes, chopped green chillies, chopped green coriander leaves and black pepper powder, spread oil on top and cook on low flame for 1to 2 minutes.

Step 5

Now flip the uttapam to the other side and press gently with a spoon and cook for 1 to 2 minutes.

Step 6

Now our very tasty and delicious farali uttapam is ready to serve… serve this uttapam with farali green chutney or tomato ketchup.
