Step 1

Wash, peel and grate bottle gourd. Mix gram flour and all masala ingredients and mix well with hands. No need to add water. Bottle Gourd will release its water and all ingredients mix well. I am going to prepare it in healthy way with minimum cooking oil in an appe pan. Heat appe pan. Grease it with cooking oil.

Step 2

Immediately pour this mixture in appe cavities with a spoon. Place the lid and cook on medium flame for 5-7 minutes. Flip the side and cook from other side also till golden brown colour. It may take 3-4 minutes. Now take another wok. Add cooking oil and put cumin seeds and when cumin seeds splutter add ginger, garlic and green chilli paste and bay leaf. Saute for 30 seconds.

Step 3

Add chopped onion and fry till golden brown colour. Add chopped tomatoes and dry masala ingredients for curry mentioned in ingredients and mix well. Cook on low flame till oil leaves the sides of wok. Add slit cashew nuts and water. Let it boil. Now add koftas. Add chopped coriander leaves and garam masala and mix well. Serve hot koftas with chapatti or rice garnished with chopped coriander leaves.
