Baked Paneer rolls

Paneer bread rolls are a beloved snack often enjoyed at parties, picnics, or as an evening treat. Traditionally deep-fried, they’re wonderfully crispy but heavy on oil. This air fryer version delivers the same crunch with minimal fat, making them a guilt-free indulgence.

The filling is a delicious combination of crumbled paneer, boiled potatoes, fresh coriander, green chili, and aromatic spices like fennel powder and garam masala. Flattening the bread slices makes them easy to roll, while a simple flour slurry helps seal the edges so the filling stays inside while baking.

Topping with sesame seeds adds nutty flavor and a pretty golden finish. Best served hot straight from the air fryer with coriander chutney or tomato ketchup, these rolls are great for tea-time, kids’ tiffin boxes, or as a party starter.

Step 1

 Prepare the Slurry

Tips and Tricks

  1. Don’t overstuff — Too much filling can cause rolls to burst while cooking.
  2. Bread type — Fresh, soft bread works best for rolling without tearing.
  3. Prevent sogginess — Assemble and cook rolls immediately to keep bread from becoming damp.
  4. Extra crispiness — Air fry for an extra 2–3 minutes at 180°C for a darker crust.
  5. Make ahead — Prepare rolls, cover, and refrigerate for up to 4 hours before cooking.
