Aloo Matar Curry

Aloo Matar curry is a classic punjabi curry made with potatoes and green peas. Using basic spices like cumin, coriander, turmeric . It’s vegan and best enjoyed with rotis or hot puris and is easy to make.

Step 1

Wash and Peel peas and potato. Cut potatoes in small pieces.

Step 2

Grind onion, ginger, garlic and tomatoes to a smooth paste in a mixer.

Heat oil in a pressure cooker add cumin seeds and when cumin seeds splutter put grinded paste in it and cook till oil leaves. Now add all dry masalas and stir. Saute for 1 minute.

Step

Now add Peas and mix well and cook for 2 minutes. Add potatoes. Now Add 2 bowls of water and close lid and cook till 2 whistles. Switch off the flame. Let pressure releases automatically.

Step

Now serve hot with chapatti or rice garnished with chopped coriander leaves.
