#PC26 Udad Dal Khichdi is a comforting, soulful Indian one-pot meal made with rice and split black gram (urad dal), gently spiced and slow-cooked to a soft, creamy consistency. Rich in protein, naturally nourishing, and easy to digest, this khichdi is both humble and wholesome — perfect for everyday comfort as well as special occasions. In many Indian households, udad dal khichdi holds a sacred place during festivals, fasts, and religious observances. It is often offered as naivedyam (bhog) to deities, symbolizing purity, simplicity, and nourishment. Especially during occasions like Makar Sankranti, temple offerings, or vrat days, this khichdi is prepared without onion and garlic, emphasizing sattvic (pure) cooking. Drizzled with ghee, it represents warmth, abundance, and divine comfort.
