Kanika is one of the traditional Food of Odisha, it is Specially Prepared on Festivals and Occasions, Kanika is One of the Dishes of Chhappan Bhog of Jagannath Puri. Kanika is a light and aromatic Rice from, Prepared Using Some Spices and Nuts .

Step 1

Basmati Rice will be Washed and Soaked for 15 Mins. Then After Heating Water According to Bhagoni, Boil the Rice, Do not Boil it Much, Keep it a Little Undercooked, After Boilling filter it in a Sieve.

Step 2

Heat Ghee in a Pan, add Black Pepper, Clove and By leaf, then add all the dry fruits and fry lightly, then add boiled rice , nutmeg, cardamom Powder and mix. After that add Sweet Colored Solution and Sugar and Cook While mixing.

Step 3

Now turn off the gas and keep it Covered for 5 to 7 minutes then mix it, our Delicious Odisha Sweet Dish Kanika is Ready.
