Made with a soft rice flour covering and a delicious spiced potato filling, this steamed delicacy reflects the warmth of our state’s traditional cuisine. Prepared during festivals, family gatherings, and special occasions, Aalu Pitha is a symbol of Jharkhand’s culinary heritage. Every bite carries the taste of homemade goodness, local ingredients, and generations of tradition passed down through families. Step 1

Boil water with salt and ghee. Gradually add rice flour and mix well to form a soft dough. Cover and let it cool slightly.

Step 2

Mix all the filling ingredients together until well combined.

Step 3

Divide the dough into equal portions and flatten each into a small disc.

Step 4

Place the potato filling in the centre, seal the edges, and shape into traditional pithas.

Step 5

Steam the pithas for 20–25 minutes until fully cooked.

Step 6

Serve hot with tomato chutney or coriander chutney.
