Tips and Tricks

  1. When you use a hand blender, to minimise splashing, use a deep jar or tall container when blending with a hand blender. Begin on low speed, then raise for a smoother, creamier shake.
  2. Fibrous mangoes are best ground using a juicer grinder. Cut the fruit into tiny parts beforehand so that the blades can purée everything evenly without overworking the motor.
  3. Use an electric chopper to rapidly chop mango cubes, almonds, or pistachios for garnish. Don’t try to make a whole milkshake with it; it’s better for chopping than mixing liquids.
  4. If you want somewhat warm milk or wish to infuse it with saffron or cardamom, gently heat it in a milk pan before completely chilling it for blending. This adds more flavour.
  5. Chill your blender jar, milk, and serving glasses ahead of time to get a richer, café-style mango milkshake without using too much ice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Sweet, ripe mango varietals such as Alphonso, Kesar, and Dasheri provide the finest flavour, colour, and natural sweetness.

When fresh mangoes are not in season, frozen mango chunks or canned mango pulp are excellent substitutes. They also thicken the shake.

Use cooled milk with less liquid and more mango pulp. You may also add some ice cubes or a dollop of vanilla ice cream.

This commonly occurs when the mangoes are not fully ripe or when too much milk/ice is added. Use ripe mangos and start with less liquid.

It tastes best when served fresh, although it may be refrigerated for a few hours. If the mixture separates, re-blend before serving.
