Eggless Churros

Step 1

Make the Dough: In a pan, add water, oil/butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a rolling boil.

Step 2

Turn off gas. Add maida + baking powder all at once.

Step 3

Mix quickly with a spatula till it forms a smooth dough. No lumps.

Step 4

Add vanilla essence. Let it cool for 5 minutes.

Step 5

Pipe the Churros: Transfer dough to a piping bag with star nozzle.

Step 6

If you don’t have a nozzle, use a zip-lock bag and cut a star shape tip.

Step 7

Fry: Heat oil on medium-low heat. Pipe 4-5 inch strips directly into hot oil.

Step 8

Fry till golden brown and crispy from all sides. 2-3 minutes per side.

Step 9

Don’t fry on high flame or they will burn from outside.

Step 10

Coat & Serve: Mix sugar + cinnamon powder in a plate.

Step 11

Roll hot churros in this mix. Serve hot with chocolate sauce for dipping
