Step 1

Make puree of grated kairi by grinding it in mixie.

Step 2

Mix it with gram flour, chopped pudina riceflour,1tbsp oil , roasted cumin seeds ,salt to taste, asafoetida and red chilli powder.

Step 3

Add a few drops of water and knead to hard dough.

Step 4

Divide the dough into 8 equal portions.

Step 5

Grease your palms and shape out each portion of the dough with the help of your palm into ½”thick and 3”:long gattas by rolling it

Step 6

Boil sufficient water in a deep pan. put all the gattas into the boiling water.

Step 7

Reduce the flame and cook gattas in hot water for about 8 minutes or till they are hard and done.

Step 8

Remove from water and keep aside to dry them. when cool slice the rolls to make ½”thick gattas.Heat the remaining oil in a pan.

Step 9

Add mustard seeds, curry leaves, whole red chillies.After they sizzle, add sliced gattas, salt, red chilli powder and amchur powder.

Step 10

Toss well gently. sprinkle chaat msaala and dried pudina powder .Serve as a snacks or starter.
