Step 1

Cut 4 fresh Aloe Vera leaves and stand them upright. This will allow the yellow gel to drain out.

Step 2

Use a knife to extract the clear white gel from the middle of the leaves.

Step 3

You should get approximately 1/2 cup of gel.

Step 4

In a bowl, take 1 cup of wheat flour. Add 2 tablespoons of desi ghee, then knead the dough with the Aloe Vera gel. Do not use water.

Step 5

Form the dough into small muthiyas (round balls) and shallow fry them in desi ghee until golden and crispy.

Step 6

Once cooled, grind them into a fine powder using a mixer.

Step 7

In the same pan, cook the ground mixture for 2-3 minutes on low heat and set it aside.

Step 8

Wash the Amla and cut it into small pieces. Grind it in a mixer without adding water.

Step 9

Heat 2 teaspoons of ghee in a pan and sauté the ground Amla. Add the Mishri powder at this stage.

Step 9

Stir continuously and cook until the Amla softens.

When the mixture begins to dry out, add the roasted wheat flour mixture.

Add black pepper powder and cardamom powder.

Now, add the almond powder and desiccated coconut powder.

Mix everything well and shape the mixture into small modaks (dumplings).
