Step 1

Wash the shamak rice Rinse well and soak for 15–20 minutes.

Step 2

Heat milk in a pan and bring it to a boil

Step 3

Add soaked samak rice to the milk and cook on low-medium flame. Stir occasionally so it doesn’t stick.

Step 4

In a small pan, lightly roast cashews, almonds, and raisins in ghee, then add them to the kheer.

Step 5

Add sugar and mix well.Add crushed cardamom and cook for another 5–7 minutes until thick.

Step 6

Serve warm or chilled—both taste amazing!
