Cabbage Rolls

Step 1

Wash the cabbage leaves and cut the stem, extract the leaves one by one and set aside

Step 2

In a bowl add minced meat, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin powder, red chilli powder, black pepper powder, cinnamon powder, oregano, salt and mix all well

Step 3

In a wok heat butter and add chopped almonds and currants and fry 1 min, set aside

Step 4

Take a cabbage leaf, add the minced meat mix in the centre and fold from all sides and roll till the other end, tuck the extra leaves beneath and close from all sides

Step 5

In a steamer take some waste cabbage leaves and baste olive oil, add the filled in cabbage leaves

Step 6

Steam for 12-14 mins and set aside

Step 7

In a pan heat rest of olive oil and tomato purée, cook till done and add veg stock.

Step 8

Add the steamed cabbage rolls and serve with choppef parsley garnished
