Wash the sweet potatoes thoroughly and place them in a pressure cooker with a little water and 2 drops of oil.

Pressure-cook until soft. Allow the cooker to cool completely before opening it.

Peel the boiled sweet potatoes and mash them until smooth.

Heat 4 tablespoons of ghee in the cooker. Add the mashed sweet potatoes and roast over medium flame.

Continue roasting until the colour changes slightly and the mixture becomes aromatic.

Add 1 cup of sugar and mix well until the sugar starts melting.

Pour in 2 cups of milk and stir continuously until everything is well combined.

Cook over medium flame, stirring occasionally, until the halwa thickens and reaches your preferred consistency.

Separately roast the raisins, cashews and makhana in a little ghee until lightly golden.

Garnish the halwa with roasted dry fruits, coconut powder and saffron strands.
