Mango Dahi Bhalle

#AAM26 Mango dahi bhalla is a sweet-fruity twist on classic dahi bhalla. Soft lentil dumplings are soaked till fluffy, then topped with chilled yogurt, fresh mango pulp, It’s perfect as a summer chaat when you want the usual dahi bhalla but with a tropical mango kick.

Step 1

Wash the yellow moong dal thoroughly and soak it in water for 2 hours.

Step 2

After soaking, strain the moong dal and grind it into a smooth paste.

Step 3

Whisk the moong dal paste until it becomes fluffy.

Step 4

Heat oil in a wok and fry small portions of the batter to form bhallas. Fry until they are golden brown and crispy.

In a bowl, mix water with a little salt and a pinch of asafoetida.

Step 6

Soak the fried bhallas in this water for a few minutes to soften them.

Step 7

In a separate bowl, beat the yogurt until smooth and creamy.

Step 8

Add mango pulp to the yogurt and mix well. Add a little sugar if needed to adjust sweetness.

Chill the mango yogurt mixture in the refrigerator for some time.

Step 10

Gently squeeze the soaked bhallas to remove excess water.

Step 11

Arrange the bhallas on a serving plate.

Step 12

Pour the chilled mango yogurt mixture over the bhallas, ensuring they are well-covered.

Step 13

Garnish with pomegranate seeds and chopped nuts as desired.

Serve the Mango Dahi Bhallas chilled for a refreshing and delightful treat.
