Hasselback Potatoes

#Aloo A great potato dish in which full potatoes are cut in thin slices most of the way through but left intact at the bottom So the slices form a type of fan ,are splashed with garlic butter in between and when baked in an oven or airfryer the slices become tender in the middle and crispy outside

Step 1

Wash the potatoes thoroughly (peel them or keep the skin on is a personal choice)

Step 2

Cut the potatoes very thinly but not till the bottom so as to retain the full potato

Step 3

Handles of spoons or chopsticks can be put on both horizontal sides of the potato to help avoiding cutting till the bottom

Step 4

Apply a little oil and place them on a baking tray or airfryer basket

Step 5

cook them in medium hot oven or airfryer for about 15 minutes

Step 6

Take out the tray and apply garlic butter thoroughly letting it go inside the opened slices too

Step 7

(for garlic butter beat 3tablespoons of butter with finely chopped garlic and mix chopped coriander leaves or oregano add some salt and pepper )

Step 8

Bake for another 10 minutes till done inside and brown and crispy outside

Step 9

Before serving check seasoning and add more salt and pepper if required

Brush a little more garlic butter

Step 11

Serve hot as a side dish
