Step 1

Soak saffron strands in 1 tbsp warm milk for 10 minutes.

Step 2

In a bowl, mix whole wheat flour, sugar, cardamom powder, saffron milk, and milk to make a smooth, lump-free batter.

Step 3

Let the batter rest for 15–20 minutes.

Step 4

Heat ghee in a shallow pan.

Step 5

Pour a small ladleful of batter into the pan and spread slightly.

Step 6

Cook on medium heat until golden brown on both sides.

Step 7

Remove and place on a serving plate.

Step 8

Garnish with chopped nuts and a few saffron strands.
