Add the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth.

Pour half the batter into two greased ramekins or mugs. Place one chocolate piece in the center of each and cover with the remaining batter.

Step 4

Microwave on high for 60–80 seconds, depending on your microwave’s power. The edges should be set while the center stays soft.

Step 5

Let it rest for 1 minute and serve warm for the perfect molten chocolate lava.
