You can make it as a sweet dessert or prepare it as a prasadam (offering) for Lord Ganesha during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival. It looks beautiful and tastes wonderful!

Step 1

​First, wash the dates thoroughly and dry them completely. Then, blend/mash them in a mixer.

Step 2

​Chop all the dry fruits into medium-sized pieces.

Step 3

​Place a pan on the stove, heat ghee, and sauté all the chopped dry fruits properly.

Step 4

​Next, sauté the mashed dates in ghee as well. Allow both to cool down.

Step 5

​In a separate dry pan, lightly toast the desiccated coconut.

Step 6

​Combine the mashed dates, chopped dry fruits, toasted coconut, and cardamom powder in a bowl, mixing thoroughly to form a smooth dough.

Step 7

​Grease a modak mold with a little ghee, stuff it with the prepared mixture, and press to shape the modaks.

Step 8

​Repeat the process for the remaining mixture.

​Your delicious and healthy Dates & Dry Fruit Modak are ready!
