Jeera Rice in Pressure Cooker

#PC26 :- Jeera Rice is a simple, aromatic, and flavorful rice dish made with fragrant basmati rice and cumin seeds. This pressure cooker version is quick and easy, with perfectly cooked, fluffy rice and a delicious jeera aroma. It makes a wonderful accompaniment to dal, rajma, chole, or any Indian curry.

Step 1

Wash the basmati rice thoroughly and soak it in water for 15–20 minutes. Drain well.

Step 2

Heat ghee in a pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.

Step 3

Add bay leaf, cardamom, cinnamon, and cloves. Sauté for a few seconds until fragrant.

Step 4

Add the drained rice and gently sauté for 1–2 minutes.

Step 5

Add water and salt. Mix gently.

Step 6

Close the pressure cooker and cook for 1 whistle on medium heat.

Step 7

Turn off the heat and allow the pressure to release naturally.

Step 8

Open the cooker and gently fluff the rice with a fork.

Step 9

Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot.
