Step 1

Keep all the ingredients ready.

Step 2

Add milk to a kadai. Gradually add milk powder while continuously mixing to avoid lumps.

Step 3

Add ghee and mix well. Place the kadai on medium flame and cook, stirring continuously, until a smooth mawa-like mixture is formed. Let it cool to room temperature.

Step 4

For the stuffing, add powdered cashews, almonds and pistachios to a bowl. Add condensed milk and mix well. Make small balls from the mixture and keep them aside.

Step 5

Divide the prepared mawa into three equal portions.

Step 6

For the Saffron Flavour: Add soaked saffron strands to the first portion and mix well.

Step 7

Make equal-sized balls and flatten each one. Place a small stuffing ball in the centre, seal it properly and give it a modak shape.

Step 8

Make a design using a toothpick.

Step 9

For the Rooh Afza Flavour: Add Rooh Afza and a little chopped cherry to the second portion of mawa. Mix well. Make balls, add the stuffing, seal and shape them into modaks. Create a design using a toothpick.

Step 10

For the Chocolate Flavour: Mix Bournvita with a little chocolate syrup. Add this mixture to the third portion of mawa and mix well. Make balls, add the stuffing and seal them. Shape them into modaks and make a design using a toothpick. Sprinkle a little milk powder on top.

Step 11

Arrange all the modaks on a serving plate and garnish with saffron strands, cherries and chocolate chips.

Step 12

Delicious Flavoured Modaks are ready to offer as bhog to our beloved Ganpati Bappa!
