Kadai Paneer

Papa ki pasand challenge Kadai Paneer is one of my father’s most favorite dishes. I learned this recipe from him, watching him cook with so much love and care. Today, I am making it for him as a special surprise. Every spice and every step reminds me of the wonderful moments we spent together in the kitchen.

Step 1

Heat oil in a kadai. Add onion petals and capsicum, sauté for 2–3 minutes. Remove and keep aside.

Step 2

In the same kadai, add chopped onion and cook until light golden.

Step 3

Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for 1 minute.

Step 4

Add tomato puree and cook until oil separates.

Step 5

Add turmeric, red chilli powder, coriander powder, salt, and prepared kadai masala. Mix well.

Step 6

Add ½ cup water and simmer for 2–3 minutes.

Step 7

Add paneer cubes, sautéed onion petals, and capsicum. Mix gently.

Step 8

Cook for 3–4 minutes. Add cream if using.

Step 9

Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot.
