Pearl Millet Bhakri

Making something in honour of a late father is a deeply beautiful way to express your love and keep his memory alive so today I made his favourite pearl millet bhakri. I used to serve this with chana dal pakaudi curry and raw banana dry sabji achaar .

Step 1

In a kadahi boil 1 cup water with one tsp of water and 1 tsp of deshi ghee when water boils mix in pearl millet flour and mix with spatula until mixture comes together cover it for 5 minutes

Step 2

Once cool enough to handle grease your palms with some ghee and knead the dough until smooth and non sticky

Step 3

Make 4 balls take one ball place it on silicone sheet dust the ball with dry flour and flatten it like a flat bread

Step 4

Heat a nonstick tava on a medium heat place the flattened bhakri on tava brush the top surface with a little water flip it once the underside has light brown spots and cook until it is nicely roasted

Step 5

Serve hot with chana dal pakaudi curry and raw banana dry sabji and mango pickle .
