Tomato Rice

Step 1

In heated pan add 1 tbsp oil, add Bengal gram Dal + Urad dal and sauté for a few seconds, then add fenugreek + coriander + hing + red chilli and sauté for around 2 minutes and turns aromatic, switch off the flame and allow to cool.

Step 2

After cooling grind it and also make pulp of tomatoes.

Step 3

In a heated pan add oil, add mustard seeds + green chili and allow to sizzle, then add Bengal gram Dal + Urad dal + chopped onion + curry leaves and sauté till onion turns light golden brown.

Step 4

Now add the tomato pulp + little water and cook for 2-3 minutes by adding salt + turmeric powder.

Step 5

Now add the roasted masala powder + salt and mix well.

Step 6

Add cooked rice and give a gentle mix, simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes till moisture evaporates .Cover and cook for 1-2 minutes.

Step 7

Tomato rice is ready to go to the Tiffin box. Serve with Curd.
