Step 1

Wash whole amlas and wipe them nicely , so that there is no moisture at all

Then take a big vessel and grate the amlas

Then put grated amla and sugar in a glass bottle . Mix with a spoon until all the sugar dissolves completely

Then strain it in a kadai until all the liquid comes out

Step 5

Now place this kadai , with sugar liquid , on a gas and cook on low heat Let it boil , put some lime juice in the sugar liquid to clean the sugar , if there are any impurities , and to get rid of crystallization

Let it boil , if any scum comes on top then remove it

Step 7

Now add amla to the liquid and add salt and haldi

Step 8

Cook on low heat until syrup becomes of 1 1/2 string consistency

Step 9

When done , then switch off the gas and add red chilly powder

Step 10

Mix well and let it cool down completely , take it out in a serving bowl

Step 11

When it cools down completely , then put it in an airtight container . You can store this for the whole year

To retain its red colour keep it in the refrigerator
