Bitter Gourd Dal

#MD26 Dishname – Bitter Gourd Dal Presenting a signature recipe of Maa which is summer Dal which is loaded with Bitter Gourd . It is a comfort dish during summer as it is light on our body and keeps body cool.

Step 1

Soak Dal overnight and then Boil Dal in sufficient water and keep aside. Chop Squash / Chayote in medium size and boil to soften.

Step 2

Chop thin slices of bitter gourd and fry till golden brown and keep aside. In pan / kadhai, heat oil, add bay leaf + fenugreek + ginger and allow to sizzle, then add boiled Dal along with boiled Squash. Add fried Bitter Gourd also.

Step 3

Add salt + turmeric powder and boil for 5 minutes under high flame. Switch off flame and Bitter Gourd Dal is done.

Step 4

Goes very well with steamed rice
