Dal Chawal Thali

Step 1

For Dal: Pressure cook dal with turmeric & salt (3–4 whistles). Mash slightly.

Step 2

In a pan, sauté onion → golden. Add ginger-garlic paste.

Step 3

Add tomato + green chili → cook till soft.

Step 4

Add cooked dal + water (adjust consistency). Simmer 5 mins.

Step 5

Tadka: Heat ghee, add cumin, garlic, red chili → let it sizzle. Add chili powder.

Step 6

Pour tadka over dal, garnish with coriander.

Step 7

For Steamed Rice: Wash & soak rice for 20 mins. Boil with water + pinch of salt. Cook till soft & fluffy. Drain excess water if needed.

Step 8

For French Fries: Soak cut potatoes in water (removes starch). Pat dry completely. Fry once on medium flame → remove.  Fry again on high flame till crispy. Sprinkle salt

Step 9

Cucumber Salad. Mix everything fresh just before serving.
