Step 1

Soak the lentils in 2-3 cups of water and keep aside.

Step 2

Firstly, in a pressure cooker take dal and make sure to rinse the dal well.

Step 3

Also, add 2 tsp ghee and 4 cup water.

Step 4

Cover and pressure cook for 2 whistles or until the dal is cooked well.

Step 5

Mash the dal slightly and adjust consistency as required

Step 6

Hot oil in a pan Once the oil is hot and add onions and cook until they turn light brown

Step 7

Add ginger and garlic and cook for 2 minutes.

Step 8

Add green chilies and tomatoes and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Step 9

Now add coriander powder, turmeric powder, and Kashmiri red chili powder, and cook for a minute.

Step 10

To prepare the tempering

Step 11

Heat ghee. garlic and fry for a minute.

Step 12

Also add cumin, kasuri methi, chilli powder and pinch hing.

Step 13

Splutter the tempering and pour over the dal.

Step 14

Add in 2 tbsp coriander and mix well.

Step 15

Finally, enjoy cooker dal tadka with Roti
